What are Geocodes?

Geocodes allow you to retrieve geographic information related to an address that you retrieve from our service.

We source location information from our global data suppliers, including Ordnance Survey UK and TomTom, and combine this information with our address data to provide location and associated accuracy for every address we capture.

The term "CRS" stands for Coordinate Reference System. In our location data, we consistently provide a latitude and a longitude coordinate. Here, "EPSG:4326" is the designation for latitude and longitude in the WGS84 system — a standard recognized worldwide by navigation systems, Google Maps, and similar platforms.

How reliable is this data?

The accuracy parameter indicates the accuracy of the returned coordinate, with the majority of our location information available at BUILDING (rooftop) level.   Where rooftop accuracy isn't available for an address we return a coordinate with less accuracy as per the table below. 

For some countries we can also provide coordinate information in their local map projection, e.g.  we can return Easting, Northing in UK National Grid.

How do I get Geocodes for an Address?

Geocodes are returned in the Lookup if you choose if from the Data tab in your integrations settings.

Toggle on the check-box for location, and any other data you want returned with the address.
